Moreover, planning a meal for kids is no easy task. I remember when I was little, I used to dislike even few ingredients in my favorite dish like I did not like my chicken with skin on.

Easy Dinner Recipes For Kids

1. Chicken Nuggets With White Sauce

Chicken Nuggets With White Sauce

Kids love edibles that they can eat while moving around or playing. Chicken nuggets are easy to cook and they can eat while jumping around the house.

Preparation time: 45 minutes

Enough for: 2-3 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken cubes: ½ kg
  2. Corn flour: 2 tablespoon
  3. Sugar: 1 teaspoon
  4. Breadcrumbs: 250 gram
  5. Oil: as required
  6. All-purpose flour: ½ cup
  7. Chicken cubes mixed in all-purpose flour: 1 tablespoon
  8. White pepper: 1 teaspoon
  9. Eggs: 2
  10. Salt: to taste

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients in chicken other than breadcrumbs. Let the chicken marinate for half an hour.
  2. Take a pan and heat oil in it.
  3. When the oil gets heated, roll the chicken pieces in bread crumbs and let them fry.
  4. When they get golden, remove from pan.

For White Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour: 1 tablespoon
  2. Butter: 1 tablespoon
  3. Milk: 1 cup
  4. Egg: 1

Method:

  1. Heat the butter in a pan and add all purpose flour. Let it mix.
  2. Beat the egg and mix it in milk.
  3. Pour the mixture into flour.
  4. Keep stirring until a thick paste is formed.

2. Cheesy Pasta

This recipe is famous in our family. Every kid just loves it. It is a must-have on our party menus.

Preparation time: 30-40 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Pasta: 1 packet boiled
  2. White sauce: 1 cup
  3. Milk: ½ cup
  4. Chicken: 1 cup
  5. Salt: ½ teaspoon
  6. Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
  7. Red pepper: ½ teaspoon powdered
  8. Cheese: ½ cup mozzarella
  9. Olive oil: 2 tablespoon
  10. Ginger: 1 tablespoon thinly sliced
  11. Soya sauce: 1tablespoon

Method:

  1. Take 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and let it get warm.
  2. Add ginger and chicken in it and sauté it for 5 minutes.
  3. Then add white sauce in this chicken mixture along with salt and black pepper plus red pepper.
  4. Then add pasta. Pour soya sauce and milk. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. When it gets thick, remove from heat and add mozzarella cheese on it.
  6. Bake for 8-9 minutes on medium.

3. Crispy Chicken Wraps

I prefer to make wraps because they are liked by almost every kid. There is no mess in their making and children can eat them while playing.

Preparation time: 20-30 minutes

Enough for: 2-3 kids

Ingredients:

  1. All-purpose flour: ½ kg
  2. Salt: to taste
  3. Chicken: 300 gram
  4. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  5. Soya sauce: 1 tablespoon
  6. Carrots: 1 boiled and thinly sliced
  7. Chili sauce: ½ teaspoon
  8. Breadcrumbs: ½ cup
  9. Oil: for frying
  10. Egg: 2
  11. Lettuce: Handful

Method:

  1. Boil the chicken and carrot separately.
  2. Shred the boiled chicken and cut thin slices of carrot.
  3. Now in shredded chicken add salt, black pepper, chili sauce, and thinly sliced carrots.
  4. Take the chicken mixture and make rolls.
  5. Take 2 eggs and beat them.
  6. Take chicken rolls, dip them in eggs and then roll in breadcrumbs. Fry for a few seconds.
  7. Now make wraps by mixing all purpose and a pinch of salt. Mix it with water. Knead it. And make small round bread. Heat the flat pan and make wraps.
  8. Now spread a wrap, then put a chicken roll on it and add lettuce and roll it.

4. Potato Sandwich

Potato is a vegetable which is liked by every kid. Even few toddlers in my family eat potato on top of any other thing. This sandwich is loved by my family.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Potato: 250 gram, boiled and mashed
  2. Eggs: 2, boiled and chopped
  3. Garlic: 1 tablespoon, chopped
  4. Cucumber: 1 sliced
  5. Mayonnaise: 1 cup
  6. Tomato ketchup: ½ cup
  7. Salt: 1 teaspoon
  8. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  9. Chicken: 250 gram, boiled and shredded
  10. Cream: 1 tablespoon

Method:

  1. Take a bowl and mix eggs, garlic, salt, black pepper, mayonnaise, and cream.
  2. Now take boiled potatoes and shredded chicken and add it in mayonnaise mixture.
  3. Take a bread slice, spread tomato ketchup on it, place chicken and potato mixture.
  4. Take another slice and put cucumber slices on it. Join it with the first slice and cut it in a triangular shape.

5. Chicken Croquettes

This is the dish I made when I was a teenager. It is easy to cook and too delectable.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken mince: ½ kg
  2. Bread slice: 1, dipped in milk
  3. Boiled potato: 1
  4. Salt: 1 teaspoon
  5. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  6. Allspice powder: ½ teaspoon
  7. All purpose flour: 2 tablespoon
  8. Breadcrumbs: ½ cup
  9. Oil: For frying

Method:

  1. Take a bowl and add chicken mince, bread slices, potato, salt, black pepper, and allspice powder. Mix them well. Add half egg and mix it further. Keep stirring until it becomes a smooth mixture.
  2. Shape the mixture in croquettes shape and dip them in egg first and then in breadcrumbs.
  3. When all the croquettes are prepared, deep fry them in oil.
  4. You can make these croquettes and freeze them for later use.

6. Shashlik Rice

Shashlik Rice

It is the simplest recipe made with few ingredients.

Preparation time: 40-45 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken cubes: 1 cup
  2. Bell pepper cubes: 1 cup
  3. Tomato cubes: 1 cup
  4. Onion cubes: 1 cup
  5. Vinegar: ½ cup
  6. Chinese salt: 1 teaspoon
  7. Red pepper: ½ teaspoon
  8. Chili sauce: 1 teaspoon
  9. Ketchup: 1-2 cups

Method:

  1. Add vinegar, chili sauce, Chinese salt and red pepper powder in chicken cubes.
  2. Heat the griller. Grease it with few oil drops.
  3. Now take a shashlik stick and stick one piece bell pepper, one piece onion, and two pieces chicken and repeat it till the end of a stick.
  4. Grill them on griller and serve it with plain boiled rice.

7. Fish Burger

Fish is healthier and tastier than any other meat. Fish fillets can be marinated and freeze.

Preparation time: 1 hour

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Boneless fish: ½ kg
  2. Salt: to taste
  3. Garlic: 1 tablespoon chopped
  4. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon coarsely powdered
  5. White pepper: 1 teaspoon
  6. Tomato paste: 2 tablespoon
  7. Tomato ketchup: 2 tablespoon
  8. Chinese salt: ½ teaspoon
  9. Soya sauce: 1 tablespoon
  10. Egg: 2
  11. Breadcrumbs: ½ cup

Method:

  1. Mix all the spices in a bowl.
  2. Marinate the fish fillets in this mixture and keep it in the fridge for 1 hour.
  3. Then take it out from a refrigerator and dip the fillets in egg and then in breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry it till golden.
  5. Grill the burgers and apply mayonnaise on one side and place the fish fillet in it and cover it with another slice.

8. Fruity French Toast

Most of the kids have sweet tooth. Fruity French toast is the best way to satisfy a sweet tooth. I am using fruit jam in this recipe in place of raw fruits.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Enough for: 2-3 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Egg whites: 3
  2. Sugar: 1 teaspoon powdered
  3. Butter: 2 tablespoon
  4. Skimmed milk: 3 tablespoon
  5. Bread slices: 5-6 slices
  6. Milk: ½ cup
  7. Mixed fruit jam: 4 tablespoon

Method:

  1. Take a bowl, add milk, skimmed milk, egg whites, and sugar and whisk them well.
  2. Take bread slices, dip them in this mixture both sides one by one.
  3. Take a pan and put butter in it. Heat it.
  4. Fry bread slices from both sides.
  5. Place them on a plate having butter paper when they are done.
  6. When they are at room temperature, take fruit jam and spread it on one slice. Cover it with another slice and cut it in a triangular shape.
  7. You can also add banana slices if you want.
  8. Drizzle some chocolate syrup if your kids like.

9. Cheese Toast

Cheese is full of calcium and other nutrients. It is a complete diet. It is easy to make and kids in our house like them as a bedtime snack too.

Preparation time: 15-20 minutes

Enough for: 2-3 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Bread slices: 4
  2. Cheddar cheese: 3 tablespoon
  3. Salt: to taste
  4. Black pepper: a pinch
  5. Egg: 1
  6. Green coriander: 1 tablespoon, finely chopped
  7. Oil: for frying

Method:

  1. Beat an egg and mix all the ingredients well.
  2. Finely grate the cheddar cheese with the help of a grater.
  3. Cut the bread slices into 4 cubes.
  4. Dip each cube in egg mixture and fry until light golden brown.
  5. Serve it with mayo sauce, garlic sauce or ketchup.

10. Multi-colored mince rice

This dish is unique due to its colors. It is appealing and kids enjoy it on the table.

Preparation time: 30-45 minutes

Enough for: 4-5 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Boiled rice white: 2 cup
  2. Boiled rice yellow: 1 cup
  3. Boiled rice orange: 1 cup
  4. Boiled rice green: 1 cup
  5. Green sauce: 1 cup
  6. Roasted mince: 2 cup

To make roasted mince:

  1. Oil: 1 tablespoon
  2. Mince: ½ kg
  3. Tomato:1 sliced
  4. Onion: 1 sliced
  5. Ginger garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
  6. Red pepper: 1 teaspoon
  7. Green chili: 3
  8. Salt: 1 teaspoon
  9. Vinegar: 1 tablespoon

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, tomato, ginger garlic paste, red pepper, salt, and green chili. Add mince too.
  2. Cover the lid until the mince is cooked and tender and its water are dried.
  3. Add vinegar and cook it on high flame.
  4. Mince is ready.
  5. Take a mold and layer rice.
  6. Layer white rice in the bottom. Spread a layer of roasted mince on it. Then layer a colorful rice and then spread green sauce on it.
  7. Again spread mince and layer colorful rice.
  8. When all the layers are settled, apply pressure so that rice gets set in their place.
  9. Place them on a plate and serve hot with salad.

11. Chicken Rice

Chicken Rice

It is my own personal favorite rice. It is made with spices and chicken, easy to cook and has a delectable taste.

Preparation time: 30-3 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Rice: ½ kg
  2. Chicken boneless: ½ kg
  3. Salt: to taste
  4. Red pepper: 1 teaspoon
  5. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  6. Yogurt: ½ cup
  7. Allspice powder: 1 teaspoon
  8. Onion: 2 small sliced
  9. Ginger garlic paste: 1 tablespoon

Method:

  1. Take a pan and heat oil. Add sliced onion and fry them until it is brown in color.
  2. Add chicken in it. Add ginger garlic paste, all spices, and yogurt. Fry the chicken at high flame until the water of yogurt dries.
  3. Now add rice to it. Add water. Bring it to boil and then low the flame.
  4. Let the rice get cooked.
  5. Cover the lid.
  6. Serve it hot with yogurt and salad.

12. Butter Cream Chicken

A tasty dish which can be served with pita bread is popular in my family.

Preparation time: 30-45 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Boneless chicken: 1 kg
  2. Salt: 1 teaspoon
  3. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  4. Onion: 1 finely chopped
  5. Butter: 1 bar
  6. Cream: 1 pack
  7. Ginger garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
  8. Yogurt: ½ cup

Method:

  1. Take a pan and heat butter in it. Add finely chopped onion in it.
  2. Cover the lid and let the onions get soft.
  3. Then add chicken in it and ginger garlic paste.
  4. Fry it at high flame. Add salt and black pepper.
  5. Then add yogurt. Cover the lid again and let the chicken soften.
  6. Once the water is dried, add cream and remove from flame.

13. Crispy Chicken Sandwich

Tasty and cheesy sandwiches with bread crumbs are close to every kid’s heart.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Enough for: 3 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Bread: round cut slices 2-3
  2. Mayonnaise: 3 tablespoon
  3. Salt: ½ teaspoon
  4. Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
  5. Green bell pepper: 3 tablespoons, small cubes
  6. Boiled shredded chicken: 1 cup
  7. Eggs: 1-2
  8. Breadcrumbs: 1 cup

Method:

  1. Take bread slices, cut it in round shape with a cutter.
  2. Spread the filling on one round piece and cover it with another round slice.
  3. Dip it in the egg.
  4. Roll in the bread crumbs and fry till golden.
  5. Serve with ketchup.

14. Potato sticks

Potato sticks

Potatoes are full of carbohydrates which are a good source of energy.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Potato: ½ kg
  2. Salt: as required
  3. Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
  4. Red pepper: ½ teaspoon
  5. Green coriander: ½ bunch chopped finely
  6. Onions: 1 small omelet cut.
  7. Tomato: 1 small omelet cut
  8. Green chili: ½ teaspoon finely chopped
  9. Eggs: 2
  10. Breadcrumbs: ½ cup

Method:

  1. Boil the potatoes. Mash them when they are bit cool.
  2. Mix all the ingredients and mash well.
  3. Make small balls with the help of hands. Roll them in egg and then in breadcrumbs.
  4. Take wooden ice cream sticks. Insert them in potato balls.
  5. Heat the griller and grease it with oil.
  6. Grill each potato ball from all sides.
  7. Serve with white sauce.

15. Hot and Sour Soup

Hot and Sour Soup

Soups are liked by every age group. They keep you warm in winter and provide you with the required nutrients.

Preparation time: 45 minutes

Enough for: 3-4 kids

Ingredients:

  1. Shredded chicken: 1 cup
  2. Chicken stock: 7 cups
  3. Cabbage: 1 cup thinly sliced
  4. Bell pepper: 1 cup thinly sliced
  5. Salt: as taste
  6. Chinese salt: 1 teaspoon
  7. Vinegar: ¼ cup
  8. Soya sauce: ¼ cup
  9. Corn flour: ¼ cup
  10. Carrot: ½ cup thinly sliced
  11. Oil: 2 tablespoon
  12. Black pepper: 1 teaspoon

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the shredded chicken in it for 5 minutes.
  2. Add all the thinly sliced vegetables and further fry it for 5 minutes.
  3. Add stock and all other ingredients. Bring it to boil for 2 times.
  4. Then add corn flour in water and pour it in mixture slowly while stirring.
  5. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from stove and serve hot.

Final word

Dinner is an essential part of meals. Sometimes kids get up in the morning and go to their schools without eating anything properly. So a healthy dinner is compulsory for kids especially.
